Mauritius!
Mauritius was another one day wonder that I wish I could have spent more time at (like Hawaii). The day went by so fast and I saw such a small glimpse of Mauritius that it is still mostly a mystery to me. It was beautiful though, and unlike any of the other countries we visited.

I did a field program called "Scenic South" and we spent the day driving, parking, and walking around some of the country's natural wonders. It was a cool, somewhat rainy day, and remembering it is like recalling a vaguely pleasant but fading dream.
Some of the sites we visited were Trou Aux Cerfs (a dormant volcano), the Grand Bassin (a crater lake that is sacred to Hindus, also called Ganga Talao), the Chamarel Waterfall, Seven Colored Earths, Black River Gorges, and Le Morne Brabant Peninsula and beach. They were all beautiful.

There were also monkeys and new friends and coffee. It was a nice day and I only wish my time in Mauritius could have lasted longer!
